Volleyball Recap: Rockville Wins High-Profile Match Against Norwich Free Academy

Rockville faced Norwich Free Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Rams came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 3-1. For the Rams, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Rockville had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-11, 25-14, 25-20.

Lucas Britney paced Rockville's offense, picking up 18 kills. Britney got some help from Tibor Elcsics and his 35 assists. Finally, Britney was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Rockville's record is now 2-4. As for Norwich Free Academy, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Rockville is set to face off against their familiar foe Capital Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Norwich Free Academy will square off against rival Woodstock Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
