Basketball Game Preview: Geneseo Maple Leafs vs. Rochester Rockets

Having just played yesterday, the Geneseo Maple Leafs will jump right back in to play the Rochester Rockets at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Geneseo has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since November 23.

Geneseo's tournament run continued when they took on Springfield on Friday. Geneseo was beaten by Springfield 59-32. While losing is never fun, the Maple Leafs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while the Senators are ranked 175th).

Meanwhile, Rochester was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The contest between them and Wheaton-Warrenville South didn't end well, with Rochester falling 48-34.

Rochester's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Geneseo, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Geneseo didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Rochester in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 36-32 victory. Does Geneseo have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rochester turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
