The home team had won the previous three meetings between Laurel and Mohawk Area, and Mohawk Area kept the tradition alive. The Spartans fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 4-3 on Friday. The Spartans have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Kolton Carlson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to hits, as he's now got three or more in each of the last three games he's played. Luca Santini also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Laurel now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Mohawk Area, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Laurel will venture away from home to challenge South Side at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
