Flag Football Recap: Madera Takes a Loss

Madera fell victim to Burlingame and their airtight defense on Saturday. The game between the Coyotes and the Panthers didn't end well, with the Coyotes falling 16-0. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 491st, while the Panthers are ranked 234th).

Haleh Ansari was nothing short of spectacular for Burlingame: she picked up 125 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 55 yards. Those 125 receiving yards gave Ansari a new career-high.

Madera is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11. As for Burlingame, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Madera has already played their next matchup, a 31-7 victory against Non Varsity Tournament Opponent on the 27th. As for Burlingame, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 31-0 win against Monta Vista on the 27th.
