Baseball Game Preview: St. Paul Flyers vs. Mapleton Mounties

For the second straight game, St. Paul will face off against Mapleton. The Flyers will be playing at home against the Mounties at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Paul is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.

On Monday, St. Paul made easy work of Mapleton and carried off a 9-2 victory. The Flyers haven't had any issues with the Mounties recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Jacob Zuccaro was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for St. Paul: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Landon Fries, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Mapleton has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for St. Paul, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
