Softball Recap: Burkburnett Wins Going Away Against Bridgeport

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Burkburnett and Bridgeport had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Burkburnett Bulldogs put the hurt on the Bridgeport Bulls with a sharp 9-3 win on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Bulls: they've now won seven in a row.

The team relied heavily on Tatum Winney, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Carlee Winney also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Tatum wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Burkburnett kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bridgeport only managed three hits.

Burkburnett's record now sits at 8-15. As for Bridgeport, their loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-12.

Coming up, Burkburnett will host Castleberry at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bridgeport, they will head out on the road to square off against Lake Worth at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bridgeport is facing Lake Worth at the right time seeing as Lake Worth is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
