Basketball Recap: Santa Clara Comes Up Short

Santa Clara was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 67-60 to the Monta Vista Matadors. The Bruins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Matadors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Santa Clara lost, don't look at Giovanni Hansen. Despite the final result, he posted 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tomer Katzir, who scored 12 points.

Santa Clara's record now sits at 1-11. As for Monta Vista, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Santa Clara will take on Fremont at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Monta Vista, they will challenge Saratoga at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Saratoga will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Monta Vista surely won't give up without a fight.
