Basketball Recap: Brazosport Christian Comes Up Short

Brazosport Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the Danbury Panthers. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2016.

When it comes to explaining why Brazosport Christian lost, don't look at Tyson Sullivan. Despite the final result, he posted 11 points along with seven assists and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Sullivan a new career-high in assists. Aiden Rodriguez was another key player, putting up four points and nine rebounds.

Brazosport Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Danbury, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-7.

Brazosport Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Founders Classical Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025. As for Danbury, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Danbury Panthers take on the High Island Cardinals at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
