Baseball Game Preview: Waverly Warriors vs. Everett Vikings

The Waverly Warriors will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Everett Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with ten consecutive losses dating back to last season for Waverly and four for Everett dating back to last season.

Waverly came up short against East Lansing on Monday, falling 7-1.

Meanwhile, Everett fell victim to Okemos and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 21-0 to the Chiefs, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Everett saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Fundunburks, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles.

Everett's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Waverly, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-3.

Waverly got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Everett by a conclusive 16-0 score. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
