Basketball Recap: Bonneville Comes Up Short

Bonneville played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Blackfoot Broncos, falling 58-28. While losing is never fun, the Bees can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Broncos are ranked 18th).

Despite the defeat, Bonneville had strong showings from Berkley Pope, who posted 11 points and five boards, and Diana Peterson, who scored seven points.

Blackfoot's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addison Tanner led the charge by going 7 of 13 en route to 17 points. Another player making a difference was Lexi Jackman, who went 6 for 11 on her way to 13 points.

Bonneville is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14. Their recent woes sure aren't a result of their performance when it comes to assists: they averaged an imposing 6.73 assists in those games compared to only 6.73 in the others. As for Blackfoot, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Bonneville has already played their next game, a 51-18 win against Century on the 28th. As for Blackfoot, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 57-45 victory against Skyline on the 28th.
