Football Game Preview: River Bluff Gators vs. Chapin Eagles + Official Tickets

The River Bluff Gators will venture away from home to face off against the Chapin Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

River Bluff is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Irmo on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Gators took a blow against the Yellow Jackets, falling 56-14. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked second).

Meanwhile, Chapin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Lexington, falling 29-7.

River Bluff will have to keep a close watch on J.R. Kinard and Anderson Stutts, a pair of players who had a big impact on Chapin's prior game. Kinard rushed for 97 yards on only ten carries, while Stutts picked up 23 receiving yards and one score.

River Bluff now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Chapin, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

River Bluff took their victory against Chapin in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 30-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gators since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
