Santa Paula waltzed into their match on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Rio Mesa Spartans. This was a revenge game for the Cardinals: when they faced off against the Spartans back in February, they had to take a 4-3 loss.

Ruben Venegas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Angel Casimiro, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

Santa Paula pushed their record up to 12-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
