Baseball Game Preview: Quapaw Wildcats vs. Salina Wildcats

We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. Quapaw has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Quapaw came up short against Wyandotte on Monday, falling 16-8. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly eight runs.

Ayden Bruton put in work while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Connor Fox made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Welch, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Salina lost 9-1 to Owasso on Saturday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Salina now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Quapaw, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
