Softball Recap: Glenn Rockets vs. Richard Pioneers

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Salem, Glenn was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Richard Pioneers with a sharp 18-8 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what Glenn needed considering they were shutout in their previous matchup.

Chelsie VanHooser made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off nine hits. VanHooser was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with six RBI.

In other batting news, Glenn got a massive performance out of Brooklyn Busby, who scored four runs while going 3-for-5. Busby is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Massey, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances.

Glenn's win bumped their record up to 11-21. As for Richard, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.

Glenn will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Notre Dame Prep at 4:30 p.m. As for Richard, they will play host again on Thursday to welcome Erie-Mason, where first pitch is scheduled at 4:30 p.m. Richard is facing Erie-Mason at the right time seeing as Erie-Mason is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
