Basketball Recap: Wade Hampton Takes a Loss

Wade Hampton lost against Eastside back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wade Hampton Generals had to suffer through a 56-16 loss at the hands of the Eastside Eagles. The Generals just can't catch a break and have now endured six defeats in a row.

Eastside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Laila Harvey led the charge by going 5 for 10 en route to 13 points in addition to seven steals and five boards. What's more, Harvey also racked up two assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Taryah Humbert, who posted 14 points.

Wade Hampton's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Eastside, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wade Hampton will head out to face off against Spartanburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wade Hampton is facing Spartanburg at the right time seeing as Spartanburg is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Eastside, they are taking a road trip to square off against Dorman at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Eastside has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
