Preview: Denton Broncos vs. Lone Star Rangers
The Denton Broncos will head out on the road to face off against the Lone Star Rangers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lone Star took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Denton, who comes in off a win.
After only two points in their last game, Denton made sure to put some points up on the board against Skyline on Saturday. Denton walked away with a 68-58 victory over Skyline. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Denton.
Denton found their leader in underclassman Ethan Sheats, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Sheats is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. Christian Walker was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, Lone Star pushed their score all the way to 59 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 68-59 to Wylie. Lone Star has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Their wins bumped Denton to 5-5 and Skyline to 5-6.
Denton came out on top in a nail-biter against Lone Star in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, sneaking past 67-65. The rematch might be a little tougher for Denton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
