McIntosh County Academy waltzed into their contest on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the Pierce County Bears by a score of 47-39. The 47-point effort marked the Buccaneers' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

McIntosh County Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mj Quarterman out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. Quarterman has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Fortune Hicks, who posted 12 points.

McIntosh County Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Pierce County, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McIntosh County Academy will head out to take on Bryan County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pierce County, they will head out on the road to challenge Appling County at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.
