Basketball Recap: Holy Cross Drops Season-High Score on Bishop Loughlin

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Holy Cross). They blew past the Bishop Loughlin Lions 62-38 on Wednesday. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Holy Cross' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jeeanna Pierantoni led the charge by putting up 21 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Pierantoni has scored at least a third of Holy Cross' points. Another player making a difference was Madison Glasco, who posted 13 points.

Holy Cross smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 38 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Holy Cross' victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-11. As for Bishop Loughlin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holy Cross will host Xaverian at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bishop Loughlin, they will challenge Thomas Jefferson Campus at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.
