Musselman has gone 8-2 against Spring Mills recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Musselman will face off against Spring Mills at 7:00 p.m.
Things were looking good for Musselman after they put the first points on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Jefferson by a score of 4-3. The Applemen have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Allison Hoffman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Musselman saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Hostetler, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that Hostetler snagged this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Spring Mills). They blew past Mercersburg Academy 15-1 on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Storm: they've now won three in a row.
Taryn Close was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Close was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Spring Mills got a big performance out of Jasmin Vermillion, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Alexis Wagner, who scored two runs and stole two bases.
Spring Mills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mercersburg Academy only posted an OBP of .250.
Musselman's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Spring Mills, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Musselman took their win against Spring Mills in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for Musselman since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
