Softball Recap: Eastwood's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

After flying high against Coronado on Friday, Eastwood came back down to earth. The Troopers fell 8-3 to the Montwood Rams on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Troopers of the 6-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Emma Jauregui made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Vivian Garcia, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

The defeat snapped Eastwood's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 24-3-1 record. As for Montwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, Eastwood and Montwood will both be playing Socorro the next time they take the field. The Rams will head out to face the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Troopers will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
