Volleyball Recap: Wilbur Cross Comes Up Short

Wilbur Cross lost against Sacred Heart Academy back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Governors came up short against the Sharks, falling 3-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 14, 2022, but that streak is no more.

Wilbur Cross took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-17, 25-23.

JJ Kirck was her usual excellent self, getting 12 digs and two aces for Sacred Heart Academy. Kirck has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Wilbur Cross' defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Sacred Heart Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.

Wilbur Cross has already played their next match (against Guilford), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Sacred Heart Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Amity Regional on the 6th.
