Volleyball Recap: Sofia Ordonez and April Vences Secure Win for Rocky Mountain Prep SMART

Rocky Mountain Prep SMART not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 25, 2024 (when they won 3-0). They blew past the Sheridan Rams 3-0. The Ocelotls were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Rams, so the Ocelotls were just returning the favor.

The final score came out to 25-10, 25-10, 25-17.

Rocky Mountain Prep SMART was led to victory by April Vences and Sofia Ordonez. Vences had nine aces and three assists, while Ordonez had six aces and six assists. That's the most aces Vences has posted since back in August. Alessandra Irazoque was another key player, getting four aces.

They weren't the only good server: Rocky Mountain Prep SMART was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 28 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in three consecutive games.

Rocky Mountain Prep SMART's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Sheridan, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Rocky Mountain Prep SMART will take on Kennedy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sheridan, they are taking a road trip to challenge Englewood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
