Baseball Recap: Lynn Classical Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lynn Classical lost to Malden back in April, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Rams walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Golden Tornados. The win was familiar territory for the Rams, who have now won three contests in a row.

Christian Figueroa spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Rolky Brea, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Emerson Lara also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Lynn Classical's record now sits at 10-2. As for Malden, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lynn Classical will host Bishop Fenwick at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Malden, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Everett at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
