             Escondido Charter fell victim to Escondido and their airtight defense  on Friday. They had to suffer through a   40-0 loss at the hands of the Escondido Cougars. The  defeat leaves the White Tigers without a win on the season.
  Joe Scates threw for 64 yards  on nine of 23 attempts.  
 Jacob Schumacher was his top target, picking up 34 receiving yards.
 A big part of Escondido's  win came down to the chemistry between  Caden Thompson and his top target  Josh Gonzales. Thompson threw for 328 yards and six touchdowns while completing 74.1% of his passes while  Gonzales picked up 206 receiving yards and five touchdowns. With that strong performance,  Gonzales is now averaging an impressive 116  receiving yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ezekiel McIntyre, who picked up 91 receiving yards and a touchdown.
 Escondido Charter's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Escondido, their victory  ended  a  five-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 4-2.
 Escondido Charter will face off against Bishop's at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Escondido,  a feisty cat fight will be fought when  Cougars dukes it out withValley Center at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. They have been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 138 points over their last three contests.
