Basketball Game Preview: Mergenthaler Vo-Tech Mustangs vs. Dunbar Poets

The Mergenthaler Vo-Tech Mustangs will face off against the Dunbar Poets at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Mergenthaler Vo-Tech had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least 55 points, but Poly put an end to it on Tuesday. Mergenthaler Vo-Tech was outmatched by Poly and fell 58-17. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Engineers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Mergenthaler Vo-Tech's loss came about despite a quality game from Tanaiji Scott, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Dunbar came up short against Poly on Thursday and fell 49-37.

Dunbar's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Mergenthaler Vo-Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Mergenthaler Vo-Tech was able to grind out a solid victory over Dunbar in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 32-23. Will Mergenthaler Vo-Tech repeat their success, or does Dunbar have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
