Basketball Game Preview: Victory Prep Academy Knights vs. Denver Jewish Day Tigers

The Victory Prep Academy Knights will square off against the Denver Jewish Day Tigers at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Victory Prep Academy hasn't scored more than 25 points for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Last Tuesday, Victory Prep Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 28-24 to STEAD.

Victory Prep Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ariana Orozco, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Joselyn Ruiz, who posted four points and 18 boards. With that strong performance, Ruiz is now averaging an impressive 9.2 boards per game.

Even though they lost, Victory Prep Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Denver Jewish Day was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 36-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Denver Waldorf.

Denver Jewish Day now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Victory Prep Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
