Football Game Preview: Nolan Catholic Vikings vs. Legacy Christian Academy Eagles

The Nolan Catholic Vikings will square off against the Legacy Christian Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Nolan Catholic's offense hasn't had much luck over their past five contests, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Nolan Catholic is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Liberty Christian on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Vikings were beaten by the Warriors 63-3. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-0.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Legacy Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Atlas HomeSchool 42-0. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 23 points or more this season.

Nolan Catholic better keep an eye on Luke Lawrence. He was instrumental in Legacy Christian Academy's win, throwing for 129 yards and four touchdowns on only ten passes, while also rushing for 30 yards. Lawrence's passing game has become a key predictor of the Eagles' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise.

Legacy Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Nolan Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Nolan Catholic might still be hurting after the 56-33 loss they got from Legacy Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lawrence, who rushed for 102 yards and three TDs on only six carries, and also threw for 263 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes.
