Basketball Game Preview: Thales Academy Apex Titans vs. Friendship Christian Falcons

The Thales Academy Apex Titans will face off against the Friendship Christian Falcons at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Thales Academy Apex has five straight wins, Friendship Christian has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Friday, Thales Academy Apex strolled past St. Thomas More Academy with points to spare, taking the game 53-37. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while the Chancellors are ranked 426th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Anna Maass continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 20 points. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Julia Bandholz was another key player, scoring six points in addition to nine boards and seven blocks.

Meanwhile, Friendship Christian took a blow against St. Thomas More Academy on Tuesday, falling 51-17.

Thales Academy Apex has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.6 points per game. As for Friendship Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
