Volleyball Recap: New Site Takes a Loss

New Site was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Baldwyn Bearcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bearcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on September 4th.

New Site started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-19, 25-20, 25-22.

Roxy Marshall paced New Site's offense, picking up nine kills. Marshall got some help from Claudi Ann Brown and her nine assists. Kendall Reese controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Claire Kelly had an outrageously good game for Baldwyn as she had 22 digs and four aces. Kelly is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served four or more in each of the last three games she's played.

New Site now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Baldwyn, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.

Looking ahead, New Site will head out on the road to face off against Walnut at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Baldwyn, they will host Okolona at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
