Softball Recap: Capistrano Valley Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Capistrano Valley can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Great Oak Wolfpack by a score of 3-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Camille Titus spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cameron Hitzler, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Capistrano Valley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Capistrano Valley's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Great Oak, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5-1.

Coming up, Capistrano Valley will venture away from home to square off against Santa Margarita at 10:00 a.m. on the 12th. As for Great Oak, they will challenge Murrieta Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Nighthawks will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Wolfpack surely won't give up without a fight.
