Softball Recap: Glenvar Takes a Loss

Glenvar had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 1-11 to make it eight. They came up short against the Patrick County Cougars, falling 10-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Highlanders of the 5-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

As for Patrick County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won seven matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Patrick County's part, Journey Moore was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Lacey Sutphin, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI and one double.

Coming up, Glenvar will square off against Patrick Henry at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Patrick County, they will take on James River at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
