Basketball Recap: North Duplin Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact North Duplin can now relate to. They lost to the Northside - Pinetown Panthers on the road by a 82-67 margin on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (64), the Rebels still had to take the loss.

Northside - Pinetown was led to victory by Zi'Mier Alexander and Malachi Moore. Alexander dropped a double-double with 14 points and 13 boards, while Moore posted 25 points and eight rebounds. Alexander is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 28 games he's played dating back to last season. Max Vansant was another key player, going 5-for-9 to rack up 13 points and six assists.

North Duplin now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Northside - Pinetown, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.

North Duplin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northside - Pinetown, they will face off against Voyager Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Voyager Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 15 games.
