Basketball Recap: David Reilly's Big Game Can't Quite Lead St. Petersburg Catholic over Shorecrest Prep

St. Petersburg Catholic lost against Shorecrest Prep back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The St. Petersburg Catholic Barons lost to the Shorecrest Prep Chargers at home by a 67-52 margin. The Barons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Petersburg Catholic's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was David Reilly, who posted 12 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Raimondo, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 11 points.

Leading Shorecrest Prep to victory were Nickolas Bearden and Damarion Feaster. Bearden put up 27 points, while Feaster had 21 points. The contest was Bearden's 19th in a row with at least ten points. Edward Mitchem was another key player, putting up eight points.

St. Petersburg Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Shorecrest Prep, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

St. Petersburg Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-42 win against Patel on the 13th. As for Shorecrest Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 54-52 defeat against Northeast on the 13th.
