Volleyball Recap: Cypress Springs Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Cypress Park on Friday, Cypress Springs came back down to earth. The Panthers fell 3-1 to the Waller Bulldogs on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost six in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-9, 14-25, 25-14.

Jayla Malone paced Cypress Springs' offense, picking up seven kills. Malone got some help from Alyssa Suarez and her 13 assists. Suarez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Waller found their leader in sophomore Kristin Nichols, who had six digs and three aces.

Cypress Springs' loss dropped their record down to 12-28. As for Waller, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 28-17.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cypress Springs will square off against rival Cypress Lakes at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Waller is set to face off against their familiar foe Cypress Park at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
