Preview: Olympia Bears vs. Bellarmine Prep Lions
The Olympia Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Bellarmine Prep Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Olympia will be strutting in after a win while Bellarmine Prep will be coming in after a defeat.
Olympia can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Rogers and snuck past 22-19. The win was just what Olympia needed coming off of a 40-13 defeat in their prior game.
Olympia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaiden Fox led the charge by rushing for 55 yards and two touchdowns. Harper Hejtmanek also helped out with an impressive 108 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Bellarmine Prep fell victim to Puyallup's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Vikings 34-0. Bellarmine Prep was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Olympia's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Bellarmine Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Olympia beat Bellarmine Prep 24-17 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Olympia since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
