Recap: Blue Ridge Knights vs. Cumberland Pirates
The Blue Ridge Knights entered their tilt with the Cumberland Pirates with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Blue Ridge walked away with a 57-45 victory over Cumberland on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Blue Ridge also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
It was another big night for Colin Michaels, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Pearl, who scored 11 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Blue Ridge's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Cumberland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.
Blue Ridge will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Okaw Valley at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. As for Cumberland, they will head out on the road to square off against Heritage at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
