Basketball Recap: Imbler Comes Up Short

Imbler lost against Nixyaawii Community back in February of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Imbler Panthers had to suffer through a 80-30 loss at the hands of the Nixyaawii Community Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while the Eagles are ranked 26th).

Imbler's loss was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Nixyaawii Community, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 17-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Imbler Panthers face off against the Echo Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Nixyaawii Community, they will head out to challenge Pilot Rock at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Nixyaawii Community knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Pilot Rock likes a good challenge.
