Baseball Game Preview: North Marion Colts vs. Bishop Kenny Crusaders

The North Marion Colts are taking a road trip to challenge the Bishop Kenny Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Kenny took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on North Marion, who comes in off a win.

North Marion is headed into the contest having just posted their closest win since April 16, 2024 on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Vanguard 7-5. The Colts haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

North Marion got a great performance from Lucas Nichols as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over 4.1 innings pitched. Nichols has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, North Marion's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Trenton Ramsey, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI. The dominant performance gave Ramsey a new career-high in RBI.

Meanwhile, Bishop Kenny came up short against Clay on Wednesday, falling 14-2.

Bishop Kenny's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for North Marion, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
