Basketball Recap: Andrews Osborne Academy Takes a Loss

If Andrews Osborne Academy was feeling good fresh off their 52-3 takedown of Lake Ridge Academy last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Andrews Osborne Academy Phoenix took a blow against the Beaumont School Blue Streaks on Saturday, falling 57-22. The Phoenix were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-7.

When it comes to explaining why Andrews Osborne Academy lost, don't look at Belen Fueyo Jiminez. Despite the final result, she posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alejandra Gil, who earned five points.

Maria Goske was her usual excellent self, going 7 of 10 on her way to 23 points and five steals for Beaumont School. That's the most steals Goske has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Joy Jones, who had eight points and three steals.

Andrews Osborne Academy now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Beaumont School, their record now sits at 3-9.

Andrews Osborne Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Villa Angela-St. Joseph at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Beaumont School, they will venture away from home to square off against Cleveland Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
