Baseball Recap: Gardner-South Wilmington Takes a Loss

Gardner-South Wilmington extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 7-14 in the process. They lost 15-0 to the Plano Reapers. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 14-4 to the Reapers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Plano, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-18. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Plano's part, they got a massive performance out of Jason Phillips, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits Phillips has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Quentin Santoria, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.

Looking ahead, Gardner-South Wilmington will host Beecher at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers are facing the Bobcats at the right time seeing as the Bobcats are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Plano, they will face off against Yorkville Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
