Softball Recap: Canon-Mcmillan Wins Going Away Against Butler

Canon-McMillan's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They put the hurt on the Butler Golden Tornado with a sharp 6-0 win. The Big Macs haven't had any issues with the Golden Tornado recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Not much got past Brooke Bumer, who gave up just three hits and racked up 14 Ks to keep Butler off the board. Bumer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sophia Carl, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Aurora Shirdon was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Canon-McMillan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Butler only posted a batting average of .125.

Canon-McMillan now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Butler, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.
