Baseball Recap: Brown Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Brown put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Shawnee Golden Eagles with a sharp 15-6 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bears also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

John Orourke was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Orourke was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Brown got a massive performance out of Oscar Wright, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Jamison Calloway was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases.

Brown's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 9.6 runs thus far. As for Shawnee, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Brown didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 15-7 victory against Francis Parker on the 26th. As for Shawnee, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 23-13 win against Central on the 26th.
