Volleyball Recap: Roybal Takes a Loss

Roybal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Belmont Sentinels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sentinels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 20-25, 25-12, 25-20.

Bradley Lopez paced Roybal's offense, picking up nine kills. Lopez got some help from Julio Rodriguez and his five assists. Rodriguez also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Jose Az, racking up three apiece.

Roybal's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Belmont, they moved to 5-12 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Roybal will challenge rival Contreras at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Belmont is set to face off against their familiar foe Bernstein at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
