Preview: Stewart County Royal Knights vs. Quitman County Hornets
Stewart County has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Quitman County Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Stewart County suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were dealt a 76-21 defeat at the hands of Terrell County. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Stewart County in their matchups with Terrell County: they've now lost five in a row.
Meanwhile, Quitman County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 11th straight loss. They were beaten by Early County 79-16. While losing is never fun, Quitman County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 523rd, while Early County is ranked 177th).
Stewart County's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Quitman County, their loss was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-11.
Everything came up roses for Stewart County against Quitman County in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 81-37 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stewart County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
