Basketball Recap: New Washington Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact New Washington can now relate to. They came up short against the Christian Academy Warriors on Friday, falling 45-25. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Leah Stevens, who went 5 of 8 to rack up 14 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Stevens a new career-high in shooting accuracy (63%). Addison Jackson was another key player, putting up seven points and 14 boards.

New Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season.

New Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-31 loss against Borden on the 8th.
