Basketball Recap: Leigh Takes a Loss

If Leigh was riding high fresh off their 84-59 takedown of Branham last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Leigh Longhorns fell just short of the Westmont Warriors by a score of 56-53 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Longhorns have suffered since January 10, 2024.

Leigh's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Westmont, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Leigh will be playing in front of their home fans against Christopher at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Christopher will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Leigh surely won't give up without a fight. As for Westmont, they will venture away from home to square off against Santa Teresa at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Westmont's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine matches.
