Softball Preview: Havelock Rams vs. New Bern Bears
Havelock and New Bern are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2017, but likely not for long. The Havelock Rams will head out on the road to take on the New Bern Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Havelock is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout on Thursday, just like they did against J.H. Rose (and have done all season long). Havelock blew past J.H. Rose 16-4. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Havelock considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
Elana Krupey made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Krupey has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive pitching appearances. Krupey was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with two runs, a triple, and an RBI.
In other batting news, Addison Jones was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Kramer, who went 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBI.
