Basketball Recap: Central Kitsap Takes a Loss

Central Kitsap lost against Peninsula back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Central Kitsap Cougars fell 31-22 to the Peninsula Seahawks. The contest marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Grace Richardson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards for Peninsula. Richardson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last eight games she's played.

Central Kitsap is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7. As for Peninsula, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Central Kitsap Cougars face off against the Bellarmine Prep Lions at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Peninsula, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Thurston at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
