The Old Fort Stockaders are taking a road trip to square off against the St. Mary Central Catholic Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Old Fort is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Old Fort is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Wednesday. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hopewell-Loudon.

Abbi Ward was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.3 stolen bases per game. Bella Abdoo also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, St. Mary Central Catholic came up short against Gibsonburg on Wednesday, falling 19-3. The Panthers have struggled against the Golden Bears recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

St. Mary Central Catholic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brittney Rhoads, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.

St. Mary Central Catholic now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Old Fort, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Old Fort has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like St. Mary Central Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Old Fort got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against St. Mary Central Catholic by a conclusive 16-9 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Stockaders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
