Baseball Recap: Rogers Takes a Loss

Rogers was the 12-11 winner over Clarkston when they last played one another on Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. Rogers fell 13-8 to Clarkston on Saturday. Pirates fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Bantams since on Saturday.

Jackson Ables led a balanced group of hitters, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Hernandez, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Ables wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Rogers kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Rogers' loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Clarkston, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6.

Coming up, Rogers will take on East Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rogers is facing East Valley at the right time seeing as East Valley is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Clarkston, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against North Central at 4:00 p.m.
